This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
There is no such thing as a typical day in my life skills classroom. Each day is an adventure filled with many surprises!
"If a child cannot learn in the way we teach, we must teach in away the child can learn."

I have 9 kiddos with severe disabilities.
They fill my classroom with laughter and happiness. They are hardworking and determined kids. Each child presents with different disabilities. All of my students have significant cognitive disabilities and many also have physical disabilities as well.
Our school is an urban, high poverty setting. The staff in our building are dedicated people that put all children first.
My Project
The iPad minis will be used on a daily basis so that my students will be able to access programs, functional academics, videos, and for communication needs to increase independence.
Students will learn how to navigate the internet for shopping, leisure skills, academic programs and choice making. The students can independently navigate the iPad mini with simple touch input. The ease of the simple input and portability is crucial for my students to be able to access the Internet.
The gracious donation of two iPad minis would increase the independence of my students.
The ease of touch input and portability will change the way my students can access all information and communication.
