My Students

My students are excited to learn, curious about the world around them, and they love to work with each other. They come from a variety of backgrounds. My students are wonderful listeners and learners, actively participating every day to show me what they know, and asking questions to continue learning.

My students are creative and eager to share their learning with others.

They are ready for a 21st-century learning environment that helps them develop collaboration skills while thinking outside the box. These skills will help them prepare for jobs that don't even exist yet.

My Project

My students love to write and share their writing. They will use these writing journals throughout the day in a variety of ways. They will use them in a writing center to write stories and during science and math to record their learning. These journals are perfect for beginning writers and include a space at the top of the page for them to illustrate their work.

Each journal serves as a concrete example of the progression of skills and abilities a first grade student experiences.

Students take pride in their journals and enjoy examining their own progress and sharing their progress with others by reading and rereading their journal entries. They will love sharing these journals with their families when they take them home at the end of the year.

We are also asking for crayon boxes and colored pens. Students will use the crayon boxes to store their crayons and the colored pens will be used during writing centers.
