Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

We ae requesting gardening items to make our annex space "come alive". Currently the outdoor space is not used and is in search of a purpose! Our school community are creating a living outdoor classroom to be complete with garden beds, perennial plants and tables with shade to be used as a healthy learning environment. We were able to acquire garden beds and seating but now need additional materials to put our ideas into action! With soil, plants and potting supplies the garden beds will flourish and with shade for our seating the learning can be comfortable for all.

John F McCloskey Pride Patch Garden will create an outdoor classroom to be the home to synergistic learning and activities for the whole school that promotes student development in all areas.

The McCloskey Lions will use their Pride Patch to enhance their learning and well-being in the area of life skills, mental health, executive functioning, community and collaboration. The intended space is designed to bring fun, choices and nature to our students grades K-8th.
