Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The gardening tools will assist Prickly Pears with properly planting and becoming familiar with appropriate tools while maintaining a the garden. Also with this is being a Horticulture Therapy group it is important meet the myriad social emotional needs of the group. The banners displaying Boundaries and Emotional phases will assist with promoting a safe place for students to be able to express their thoughts and feelings without judgement. Moreover, the calm ball will assist students with addressing various emotional topics during circle time after planting and managing the garden activities.

This group of students are special because they have shown resilience in so many ways in their personal lives and home.

There is so much to them as with a cactus(prickly pears). I want them to see that they have what it takes to thrive.
