My students need a laminator with pouches, paint, bulletin board materials and other basic classroom supplies so that we can incorporate hands-on activities in our daily instructional time.
My school is an inner city elementary school that is home to 650 students. Eighty percent are high needs students. Forty-five percent are English Language Learners. Fifty-four percent are classified as low income. Thirty-four percent have special needs. Our school contains the SAIL program for students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
My classroom is a sub-separate preschool for students identified with Autism Spectrum Disorders whose degree of challenges require that they remain in an alternative setting.
All of my beautiful, charming and hardworking students have different needs and goals. They brighten my day the minute they pass through our classroom door. I want to do all I can to help them succeed and shine.
My Project
Preschool is a time when children learn through exploration, play and trial and error. It is a time for risk taking, discovery, questioning, and problem solving. Hands-on experiences where children are active learners throughout the day by exploring with materials, learning by doing, moving throughout the classroom, and interacting with one another are crucial for preschool success.
My students need materials to create projects while they are developing and practicing necessary skills and a laminator with pouches so we can preserve them in all their wonder for classroom displays and for families to treasure for years to come.
We need glue sticks, glitter, paints and Velcro fasteners for our art projects. Once completed, we love to showcase their work on our classroom walls and on our bulletin board outside our classroom for all to see. I am also requesting monthly calendar cut outs for our circle time so we will be able to celebrate birthdays and other special days as we practice our numbers and days, weeks, months and weather with the Calendar Cutouts Kit. Finally, I would love to mark each child's special day with a Happy Birthday Bulletin Board Set, Happy Birthday Crowns and My Birthday Star Badges. I know they would love these.
