Help me give my students number bonds, magnetic numbers and counters, teddy bear counters, and the making ten, addition and subtraction listening centers to strengthen their number sense and prepare them for financial literacy!

Wow! I cannot believe that I am halfway through my fifth year of teaching. Time sure flies when you enjoy what you love. My students this year are a lively, inquisitive, and creative bunch. They love to learn and explore the world around them. My students come from many different socioeconomic households. Most are from low income one parent households and others are military connected. We have several students who suffer from ADD/ADHD, ODD, and other learning disabilities. No matter their background or family life, they strive to be the best students they can be.
My goal is to give my superheroes a warm, cozy, and safe environment.
I want them to be able to come to a place where they feel safe and comfortable! I strive to give my students a fun and engaging classroom where they can learn and grow. We are a tech-based, hands-on learning classroom. We strive to prepare our students to be twenty-first century learners. STEM is important and my students love this time of the day. They are amazing engineers, artists, and coders. I love what I do, and I wouldn't change a thing!
In kindergarten, it is my job to make sure my students have a strong understanding of number sense. This understanding of number sense will give them the skills they need to be successful in math in their academic careers! They need to grasp the concepts of number recognition, sequencing numbers, making ten, adding and subtracting, and comparing numbers.
I am requesting several Lakeshore activity centers that will be used to practice these skills that will give them a firm foundation in financial literacy!
The Lakeshore making ten, addition and subtraction listening centers will be perfect to practice these skills. I can have four students in each center practicing these skills at one time. Also, the CD that accompanies these centers will explain how to do the skill we are working on. Its like having another teacher in the classroom!
The teddybear counters will be used to help my students count, compare numbers, and add and subtract. These counters are easy to grip and perfect to help with keeping track of quantities!
The magnetic numbers, counters, and equation magnets are perfect to use when I am explaining number recognition, sequencing, addition, and subtraction. They stick right to the board, are soft foam, and are perfect for my superheroes to work with at their seats! The number bond activity center will be used for decomposing numbers and finding the missing addend. This is a difficult skill to master, so this center will give them much needed practice!
These manipulatives and math centers are essential for my superheroes to practice these math concepts. If they have a strong foundation in number sense, then they will have a strong foundation for financial literacy! Thank you!
