Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I work in a Title I school and I have the privilege of K-3rd English Language Learners. My students live in a low-income area and very few students come from two parent homes. Despite their many challenges and lack of parental support, my students strive to learn as much as possible and improve their future.

My students are lifelong learners that desire to improve themselves and improve their communities.

They are creative, innovative, and respectful. Many of my students come to school not just to learn but for love and stability.

My Project

These materials will greatly help as we prepare for the our state test. Students will use whiteboards to present their answers to our practice questions.

The headphones will allow students to get comfortable and familiar with the speaking and listening portion of the test.

I have learned in the past that students really struggle when they have not had practice speaking into a microphone. I do not want lack of resources to hinder students on the test. They have worked so hard all year they deserve an equitable opportunity to show growth on the test.
