Visual aids and diverse forms of expressing your thoughts is critical in an ELD classroom. Students need multiple ways to both understand and express their learning. Multi-colored dry erase boards and highlighter tape will greatly help students identify, organize, and emphasize key information. The headphones will allow groups of students to listen carefully to educational programs without distracting other students. The student clipboards will allow students to rotate around the classroom while being able to write down notes and ideas. Use of bright, diverse classroom materials will help students better comprehend and express their mastery of the English language. Parts of speech posters will be a very useful reference tool as students learn to build on their sentence structures and paragraphs.
