My Students

Like all classrooms, our students have very diverse backgrounds and experiences that impact their education. The community if diverse financially, and each child has different access to many different home experiences.

My students are inquisitive and eager to increase their knowledge.

They love doing so through any means possible. In this day and age students need to be able to have access to the same materials and technologies to make them more successful in the classroom. I work hard to help give them opportunities but would love to give them even more.

I provide opportunities for them to stretch their imaginations and challenge themselves. They each have unique talents and intelligence that contribute to the class as a whole. My students work to develop a growth mindset with lots of grit as they approach challenges and struggles they may have at school and as they move through their life.

My students love learning. They love being with friends. Every day they have opportunities to learn with friends.

My Project

These items will be helpful for my class for 2 reasons. The first is that we will have the supplies that we need to actually do our work. Many students in our area are not ready with what they need to function daily and these donated items will get everyone supplied. These daily items include: crayons, pencils, markers, glue, dry erase markers, and items for organization to help prepare for older grades. The second second reason is that many of the other items are for special needs students. They can have items that will help them enhance their learning by curbing difficulties they have in vision or in behavior. For example the color overlays are used to help with tracking in reading and dyslexia. The alarms with vibrating timers are helpful for students who are having difficulty with staying on task and completing work. I'm so excited for these items. I had to decide what was truly needed as I had to buy double of the bare essentials so students didn't share due to COVID. This will enhance student work and make the classroom feel less lean due to missing supplies. It will be a relief to have enough for everyone.
