Help me give my students puppets to explore imaginative play. Children's imaginations are always in motion, these puppets will help keep the creativity flowing.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I teach the best students! I teach 4-year-olds and a big part of what I teach is literacy skills. I not only teach the skills, but I try to build a love for literacy and reading! Puppets bring stories to life and create a fun way to retell stories to help build reading comprehension as well as gives students a chance to use their imagination!
Students are receptive to learning when they learn through hands-on activities, and puppets offers an entertaining approach to introducing new concepts to children.
Puppets can act as role models for behavior and emotional regulation, and they can boost communication skills through structured and playful teacher-led opportunities. I will use puppets in the classroom to target certain skills.
I want to give my students a variety of puppets to use for story retell! I also would like to use the puppets to read stories! The students find it so engaging to listen to a story by a puppet. Not only that, but we talk about different cultures, and I want my students to explore the different cultures through puppets. The puppets would allow my students to use their imagination and build a love for literacy while bringing stories to life!
Puppets can enhance communication skills, listening, emotional development, social interactions, motor skills and creativity. By using puppets I hope to foster a lifelong love of learning.
