This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In an ideal world, the majority of science learning will be done through inquiry-based activities and labs. However, we are limited by several things, such as time and resources.

All year long, my students asked for more hands-on activities and labs.

As a first-year teacher, I, unfortunately, didn't have much experience, time, or resources to be able to give the full laboratory experience I wish I was able to give to my students. However, I believe high expectations and a sneak peek of what laboratory science in higher education looks like would pique the interests of many students. Micropipettes are an incredible tool used in science, and having a class set would bring an authentic lab experience to the classroom.
