Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is a Pre-K classroom consisting of 4-year-old boys and girls. Many of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes in the inner city of the largest urban school district in the state. The majority come from homes where English is a second language. The students and their parents manage to rise above it and come to school daily ready to learn through play.
A typical day in our classroom is full of laughter and a sense of security.
They look forward to the hands-on activities that help to foster a sense of community.
My Project
My classroom is full of budding artists. They enjoy getting creative in our art area. This means we go through a lot of art materials during the school year. By donating to this project, you will help rebuild our art area. In addition to the tempera paint, we need paint trays for color mixing. I am asking for primary colors, black, and white paint so the children are encouraged to mix their own colors and various shades.
Whether it is hanging in our classroom or the school hallway, the pride on my students' faces when they see their artwork is such a wonderful sight.
They are so excited to take their art home to share with their families. These materials will allow my students to continue to create.
