Although the items arrived towards the end of the school year last May, my students were THRILLED to have new balls to bounce around and play with as the school year ended. The end of the year is always a struggle as the students become antsy and restless so these items arrived at the perfect time to re-motivate them and keep them engaged. The different sizes of balls were perfect for their individual gross motor skills and the basketball hoop was a huge hit! Not to mention, the bubble machine. WOW!!! The smiles and laughter could be seen and heard throughout the whole neighborhood.\r\n\r\nOur calm area is so peaceful now, especially with the four foot led bubble tube! All the students love it and adults who come into my classroom are amazed by it as well. This has been a great asset to this year's classroom. It has eased my students' anxiety about starting preschool by providing a peaceful and soothing environment to help them settle down and control their emotions. I look forward to a wonderful year with these generous donations to share with my students.","fullyFundedDate":1746576026233,"projectUrl":"project/busy-bodies-calming-minds/9048197/","projectTitle":"Busy Bodies, Calming Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Thompson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp406522_orig.jpg?crop=1068,1068,x49,y380&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1715095796465","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/406522"},{"teacherId":270303,"projectId":8826850,"letterContent":"I am thrilled to share an update on the impact your generous contributions have made on our classroom. The art books are a wonderful addition to our classroom library!\r\n The children are absolutely delighted about our new books. Every day, as soon as the art center opens, their eyes light up at the sight of these new treasures. They eagerly gather around to explore the colorful illustrations and inspiring stories. You can see their faces light up with excitement when they discover something new.\r\n These books have become a central part of our art lessons. I have integrated them into various projects and activities, sparking creativity and deeper learning. After reading about different art techniques, the students have tried replicating the styles using paints and collage materials.\r\n They are now creating their own artwork inspired by the books, which not only enhances their understanding of art concepts but also builds their confidence in expressing themselves creatively. We can not thank you enough.","fullyFundedDate":1732131889758,"projectUrl":"project/creative-minds-library/8826850/","projectTitle":"Creative Minds Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Doster","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/270303"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_73020","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":498,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":9,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":79,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":55.3,"schoolId":73020,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about John Bennett Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"John Bennett Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/detroit-public-schools-community-district/john-f-bennett-elementary-school/73020"}
