My Project

In my rural Title I Pre-K classroom, hands-on learning experiences are essential for helping students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills at an early age. The Kaplan Branch Blocks and Roadway System will provide my students with engaging opportunities to explore STEM concepts through play-based learning.

Young children learn best when they can build, create, test ideas, and work together.

With the branch blocks, students will experiment with balance, design, and spatial awareness as they construct different structures using natural materials. The roadway system will encourage students to think creatively while exploring concepts such as mapping, movement, sequencing, and engineering.

These materials will also strengthen important social skills as students collaborate, share ideas, and solve problems together. STEM activities naturally encourage communication, teamwork, and perseverance as children learn through trial and error. My students will be able to create bridges, roads, towns, and structures while learning foundational concepts that prepare them for future academic success.

For many of my students, our classroom is the place where they first experience high-quality STEM learning materials. By providing open-ended building opportunities, I can foster curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning in my young students. Your support will help bring meaningful, hands-on STEM experiences into our classroom and inspire my students to become creative thinkers and problem-solvers.
