Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a second-year Pre-K teacher and my students are truly brilliant. Starting your very first year of school in a pandemic can be very hard. Being a three to five year old and having to do virtual/hybrid learning is exceptionally difficult, but my babies have done such an amazing job! Many of my students come from low-income households, and they each have their struggles, but they still come to school with a smile and are ready to learn.

My Project

Being in a Pre-K classroom my babies are touching everything, so this hand soap will help me make sure that their hands are germ-free after recess, and workstations. Their hands will be clean after touching the tables, centers, pencils, markers, chairs, books, door handles, and everything else to minimize the risk of germs.

Most of my students come from a low-income household and they are not able to buy papers to use for their homework which is why I try to provide as much as I am able to.

These materials will allow me to provide more materials for my students to take home and use. I'm excited to see how these resources stored in plastic bins improve, advance, and encourage my students learning as well as their writing skills!

In my Pre-K classroom I like highlighting positive behavior to motivate the students that need a little improvement in their behavior. When I reward good behavior the other students start mimicking that behavior in order for them to also receive rewards. This project will help me in acknowledging the behavior that I want to see in the classroom. I will also reward students when they achieve one of their Pre-K goals, by doing this it will motivate them to keep achieving their goals.
