This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of curious teenagers. They are constantly asking questions and seeking new methods to solve problems. They are eager to learn about the world around them.

My students are especially interested in learning about the possible education and career pathways they can take after high school.

They want to learn about new technology, and how to apply their own creativity and skills to use that technology to its full advantage. They see the connections between things they learn in all their classes, and love to find ways to use those connections to further their understanding.

My Project

My students need graphing calculators to adequately master the material in the pre-calculus curriculum. We need a class set of 20, so everyone can learn how to use this technology. Additionally, they will be able to use these calculators on the SAT, which will help them feel more confident going into the math section.

We need to replace our 5-button calculators with TI-84's so we can visualize all of the functions we are going to learn about in pre-calculus.

My pre-calc. students are hard-working students who hope to take AP Calculus the next year, and they need the experience using this type of calculator before they get there.
