My Students

My students are eager learners at the beginning of their schooling! They work hard every day to learn, grow and strengthen their new skills! Many are ELs and some are very new to the country, so the ability to see, hear and touch what they are learning about is so important!

Reading, writing, math and so much more: these are the skills my students sharpen every day through hard work and fun, of course!

A glimpse into my classroom will show the many strengths of the school, such as the diverse student body, the grit of the students and the successful futures they are working towards! Building their skills is the key to success!

My Project

One of the most important skills my students will practice is reading their sight words. These are the key words that will unlock the beginning of reading for them! Many of my students are ELLs, students with special needs and/or students who have not been to kindergarten so it is very important to help build their foundational reading skills. The sight word games will help them to learn these words while they are working together cooperatively in centers. In addition, with engaging ways to work together, they will develop a sense of independence and responsibility while I am working with small groups on other skills!
