I will be teaching in an urban school in which most of the diverse student body is from a low socioeconomic background. I will be teaching a special education classroom with students in 3 grade levels in one room. Due to this, it is very important that I am able to differentiate instruction so that each grade level (fourth, fifth, and sixth) can be taught well for the students. My goal is to create 2-3 small group mini-lessons for each subject as needed. While I am instructing some of the students, the other students would be practicing and applying the skills from their mini-lesson. In this type of a learning environment, iPads would be critical to helping differentiate and individualize their opportunities for independent or paired practice and application.
