Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are located in northeast Houston, Texas. My students are between 4-5 years old. We are a Title I school which means we're in a predominately low-income​ area. Despite their home struggles, my students are eager to learn and love school. They come to school so happy and energetic to learn something new every single day. Seeing their smiles and eyes light up brings me so much warmth to my heart. They are more than just students they're my own children.

My Project

These items selected are to help my students learn to write their names. The only way for them to learn is to do it every day repeatedly. Expo dry erase markers are perfect for this task! They'll be able to write and erase with ease while writing their names and have fun doing it. From years experience, it's so much easier to teach a child a new skill when they're highly engaged in the activity. This leads me to the cardstock paper and laminating sheets. In pre k EVERYTHING is hands-on​ and made into classroom material. There's tons of printing and cutting all year long. The cardstock and laminating pouches give us a sturdier more rigid feel for anything we were to print.
