My Project

One of the most amazing things about the Montessori curriculum is the emphasis on giving students real-life skills. We call it practical life, well, because, it's practical life skills! We have learned how to sew, frequently make food, practice cleaning, and so much more.

My students love cooking for our class and other people in the school!

The items in my project will enhance our practical life corner, we will have a toaster oven to make cookies & muffins in class! The microwave cart will give us a space to store our cooking materials and enhance our ability to warm things up in our classroom. The blender will allow us to reuse the fruit from lunch to make delicious smoothies! This provides us with many units of cooking and meal prep! Already in our corner, we have a tea kettle for hot cocoa & tea - imagine the kids faces when they see these great additions!

The sewing materials will allow my students to make their own pencil pouches! This is a project I've wanted to do with my students but haven't been able to get the materials.
