My Project

The 3rd graders in my class are a group of diverse scholars that come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds in which English is not their first language. English is not spoken at home and many of the students are learning the English language for the first time in our school. However, the students have made incredible gains in speaking and reading in English with the help of their school-issued iPads. The iPad has been a critical English teaching tool for these students. However, in order for students to learn their best on their iPads, the iPads must be charged.

The charging port and charging cables are necessary to our classroom and for our students' ability to improve their reading, writing, math, and thinking skills.

Too often, students' iPads run out of charge in the middle of the day causing the student to miss high quality instruction. The charging station and charging cables are a necessary part of our classroom and are much needed.

Despite the language and economic barriers the students in my classroom face on a daily basis, the students have demonstrated an incredible level of creativity. Always drawing, coloring, or creating artwork out of ordinary objects, the students in my class continue to demonstrate their artistic ability. Often times, students demonstrate their understanding through their illustrations. Additional coloring supplies will be used daily in the classroom to give the students a creative outlet throughout the day.
