My Students

I teach a large variety of students from an urban area in Virginia. My students are typical urban city school children, representing a range of ages, in ninth to twelfth grades, and including standard, highly motivated or gifted (International Baccalaureate Program) and special education students. In addition, they are mostly minority (African-American), underprivileged and at-risk students. Many have specific learning disabilities and require varied and specialized instruction. Those students enrolled as diploma candidates in the International Baccalaureate Program are very hard workers. My students are often tech savvy, but they do not have access to a lot of technology.

My Project

We have several mobile laptop labs that we share in our school. They are very convenient and the laptops are pretty good, however starting to age. Several of the laptops no longer work because the batteries are bad. If we can replace the batteries, then those laptops will become more useful again.

We need new batteries for some of the laptops in our mobile labs.

These computers are several years old and the batteries are starting to fail. Since it is a mobile lab, we actually use it for a variety of courses and it is always being used. Having all of the laptops functioning is very important
