This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have 25 students that love to be creative, engaged, and challenged with their learning. I teach at a Title I school where all students receive breakfast and lunch at no cost. My school works hard to maintain a learning community that brings new and innovative ideas and materials to the learning environment. The one thing we all have in common is that everyone comes to school and wants to learn! I/we are always looking for new items to bring into our classroom to enhance the learning experience.
My Project
Our classroom was awarded Kindle Fires to help develop reading comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary. We need POWER. This charging station will provide a central location for the students to place the Kindles to charge when not in use. Plug-ins are scarce in the classroom, so this will allow a place for continuous charging without having to unplug computers. I have also included a set of 8 headphones to be used with the Kindles doing student interaction time. This will allow the other students to continue with their academic growth without the disruption of the students that are using the Kindles.
