My Project
My students come from poverty. Everyone on our campus receives free lunch, breakfast, and a snack each day. Students come to school for food and warmth first, then to learn. A lot of the student population are English Language Learners and are struggling to acquire the necessary language skills to be as successful as their peers.
With the Power Pen resources, my students will be able to get instant feedback as they practice the skills we have been working on.
The power pen allows the teacher and the student to hear if they got the question correct. This will allow the teacher to work with other students at the same time.
I currently have one set of the Power Pen Cards and my students LOVE the instant feedback. They self-correct just as quickly as they answered the question. Each day students ask who gets to use them today. The addition of pens and cards will allow me to have more students practicing.
