My Students

Sometimes it only takes a simple thing to make a junior high child happy. One thing that makes my students happy is to see their work displayed on the wall of the classroom or in the hallway. I teach 8th grade Science and Social Studies in a small rural district in southwest Mississippi.

I have found that the large easel-sized plain white paper pads make excellent posters.

The children can design their posters and decorate them as they choose. Displaying examples of their work makes them proud, and if they have pride in what they're learning, they will be motivated to learn even more.

My Project

Having enough of these pads on hand to provide every student with paper to work on is essential to getting students involved in projects and assignments. A child cannot be motivated if he or she wants to do the project but lacks the materials to complete it. And when the parent can't or won't provide it, the child loses interest and loses hope.

Your contribution toward funding this proposal will make sure my students have what they need to be successful in their classes and proud of what they've accomplished.
