Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We get to work with all students, kindergarten through 6th grade at our school as the science specialists!
We spend time every week teaching environmental science and project-based learning aligned with environmental education to every student.
All students in these grades get to experience hands-on lessons that bring science concepts to life!
Mrs. Lott is also our STEM writing specialist and works with all grades to encourage problem-based learning strategies and college and career readiness through writing activities.
My Project
Mrs. Olivia Lott, our STEM writing specialist, and Mrs. Sara Gailey, our science specialist, have collaborated together to request a poster printer for projects we design and implement for all grades in our school.
Our students are often engaged in project-based learning activities where they display their work for peers, teachers, and our school community.
We often have to display technology generated creations on small papers or not at all. We would love to be able to showcase the hard work our students are doing.
Current projects that students are working on that would benefit from the poster printer include 5th-grade blog poster; a student-generated design for the outdoor learning space that is being redesigned by our 4th-6th graders to be displayed for the school community to see; K-2 students are studying the development of various seeds, they will create poster highlighting the life cycle from seed to plant. These are just a few of the projects that would benefit from having a poster printer. Grade level teachers would also have access to print classroom projects.
