As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I am here to provide my students with both stimulating and meaningful learning experiences.
Kindergarten is always full of energetic, fun-loving students.
There is nothing I love more than to see these students walk into the classroom with a smile on their faces, ready to learn.
From the moment my students walk in those classroom doors, my main focus is to make sure they are growing to their full potential. Many of the students are raised in a single-parent household and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. Something like this could prevent my students from getting ahead in life. My job is to make them feel comfortable every single day. I want my classroom to feel like home. A place where they can come to feel safe! Despite all the challenges they face outside of school, I can only hope that I can inspire them to do their best and feel confident each day in my classroom!
My Project
These supplies will support my students and myself start the school year off on the right foot. I know that this is the first time that most of my students are entering a classroom. I want to be able to supply them with everything they need to be successful in the classroom.
All of the suggested supplies will support and benefit our classroom learning environment.
The children will need folders in order for me to communicate with parents daily. The sheet protectors are used in their folders, that is where I put important information that parents need to read right away. My students all need dry erase markers to practice different skills on their white boards. The chart paper markers will make it easy for my students to see anything I write for them to learn. Glue sticks will support them throughout many projects in the classroom as well.
