My Project

Even after returning to the building after the pandemic, some of my students are struggling with self confidence and self worth. Their self esteem is at the lowest I have seen in my 20 years of working in education. Many of them are unable to make eye contact with peers and adults. I often hear them say, " I can't do that because I'm not smart enough!" When I hear this, my heart breaks for them. Many of my students feel that they have regressed in the area of academic skills to ever be any smarter. Many of them need a mindset reboot!

Our school is developing a growth mindset initiative.

We are taking on an upward and onward approach in reshaping how our students view of themselves. This mirror will be decorated with the roses and positive affirmation signs along each side so when students see themselves, they see beauty, love, strength and success looking back. The cart will sit close by the mirror and house positivity cards, magnets and other resources. We can only hope when our students see positive words all around, their mindset will change.
