Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our special education classroom, students are learning more than just academics—they are building life skills, responsibility, and confidence. One of the most meaningful ways we reinforce these skills is through a classroom economy system. Students earn “classroom currency” by working hard, staying engaged, showing positive behavior, and meeting their individual goals.

Each week, students receive a “payday,” where they can choose to save their money or spend it on rewards.

This system teaches real-world skills like budgeting, decision-making, and delayed gratification—all while keeping students motivated and excited to learn.

Our students have been working incredibly hard and consistently earning their rewards. However, our rewards cabinet is starting to run low. Without a variety of incentives, it becomes more challenging to maintain the excitement and motivation that this system brings to our classroom.

We are seeking donations to restock our reward system with fun snacks, small prizes, and motivating items that students can work toward. These rewards are not just treats—they are powerful tools that encourage perseverance, build independence, and celebrate student success.

Your support will directly impact students who benefit from positive reinforcement and structured motivation. With your help, we can continue to create a classroom environment where hard work is recognized, goals are celebrated, and every student feels successful.
