Help me give my students a variety of gift cards to earn to help decrease behavioral challenges and increase academic performance.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My school is an elementary/middle alternative program, servicing students who are over aged and under-credited. Our school specializes in high-quality academic instruction and behavioral supports. Our goal is to inspire students to develop the necessary coping and decision-making skills to positively excel socially, behaviorally, and academically.
Many of my students live in urban communities where they are experiencing trauma, poverty, violence, housing instability, food insecurity, and lack of educational resources.
Despite their challenges, my students are brave, warmhearted and demonstrate resilience regardless of their circumstances and obstacles. My students are hard-working, driven individuals who are looking to exceed all expectations and set the bar high by excelling in academics and becoming strong leaders within their communities.
I want to support and "REWARD" my students by giving them incentives to keep them motivated and actively engaged during instruction. The majority of my students have Individualized Educational and Behavioral Intervention Plans. However; many of them need one on one assistance and small group instruction in order to make academic progress during the school year.
Providing incentive gift cards will be a great opportunity for students to improve their behavior, academic performance and build self-confidence.
My goal is to continue finding creative and unique strategies to accommodate and improve students learning.
Students will earn PBIS incentives for attending classes, completing all assignments, and improving behavioral expectations. A bi-weekly raffle will be drawn to determine which student has been chosen. Also, there will be a "Student of The Month" drawn for outstanding academic performance. I am asking for a variety of food, clothing, and entertainment gift cards that my students will enjoy. I am asking for your support and contribution to fund my class project. Thank you in advance for investing in my students.
