My Students

Hello My name is Cyndi Levinson, I am a Middle School Teacher working with students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. My students are primarily are on the Spectrum or have a diagnosis Emotionally Handicapped.

These students in my class, and other classes throughout our school suffer from some unfortunate circumstances in both their home lives as well as their academic lives.

In order to promote a positive learning environment for all of the students in grades 3-8, one period a week on Fridays I run a club hour. Last year I purchased some board games, a few lego sets, arts and crafts supplies to use in some of the clubs. The program was a huge success for students and staff alike. This year I am attempting to incorporate more students and teachers into the program, but do not have enough supplies nor money to purchase the types of things we need to make Friday Afternoons something extra special.

My Project

These wonderful Lego Stem kits, and the Parachute with bean bags, will be used as part of Friday Afternoon Clubs, so they children will have greater access into exploring the world of STEM while others engage in fun Physical Activities. This is the time our students are rewarded for their outstanding academic work and positive behaviors throughout the week.

Clubs help our children bond on a higher level than they can in the classroom!

The students work harder in order to attend clubs of their choice, so making them exciting is important.
