Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have loved using and engaging with the flexible seating options in our redesigned classroom. We are now approaching a new school year and looking to increase the positive atmosphere of our classroom!
I teach a lively group of sophomores and seniors with many different wants and needs in the classroom.
These students come from very diverse backgrounds, and I teach a variety of academic levels as well as different learning styles. I believe that providing them with positive inspiration and organizational tools in the classroom will help them foster a sense of self and responsibility.
My Project
Last year we switched to a flexible seating environment. We were able to purchase chairs, couches, rugs, lap desks, blankets, and other resources that allowed students to personalize their learning environment. Now that we are starting a new school year, I'd love to be able to expand their flexible seating arrangement to also include positivity and creative influences.
The motivational posters and fun borders for the bulletin boards will help make the classroom more personalized for the students.
The command hooks will allow me to display some of the heavier items in class that are fun to look at. Having a vacuum cleaner will make clean up in the classroom a lot easier after the addition of the rugs last year. It is important to me to not only have a positive learning environment, but also a clean learning environment.
