Positioning My Students for Success: 1st Year Teacher

My students need basic classroom materials to position them for success this upcoming school year. They need markers, paper, notebooks and pencils.

My Students

Although I've yet to meet my 5th graders this upcoming school year, there is one thing that holds true for every single one of them: they ALL want to succeed in their education. My students are upcoming 5th graders who will be attending SU Elementary. In our school, the student mission is to build academic and personal values and habits that lead to success in middle school, high school, college and beyond. Often times Oklahoma does not provide sufficient funds for our students to accomplish this mission; however it is my goal as a teacher to uphold this mission.

My Project

As a 1st year teacher it is my job to create a class atmosphere where my students feel that their education is valued and important. One of the first steps in accomplishing this job is to provide my students the basic resources that that they need in order to position them for success. Whether it is providing them adequate and sufficient amounts of notebooks, markers, paper, pencils, folders, etc., all items are essential within the classroom.

As an upcoming first year teacher in Tulsa, Oklahoma, setting up my classroom for the most part on my own can be very pricey.

Therefore I can use as much support as possible to create the best learning environment for my students this upcoming school year. All donations will be used for my classroom and will be greatly appreciated!
