My Students

My students are hardworking and very enthusiastic. They are from diverse backgrounds that adds to the culture of our school. They face many challenges daily.

My students have turned windows into doors. They break through barriers many other students do not face. They made twenty percent gains on our state end-of-course exam. If they have the tools to be successful, they can be. They want a level playing field in the classroom.

My Project

I truly love teaching and I enjoy my job immensely. I teach 8th grade civics in a state that counts our end of course exam for 33% of my students final grade.

The paper and highlighters will be used by my students to create portfolios for review to get them ready for the exam.

I have found that making this portfolio has made a tremendous difference in my students EOC scores.

Some of my students have said they pulled it out for review, when they took high school government for a quick review
