Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students live in a small community in northeast Alabama. Sixty-eight percent of students at my school receive free or reduced-price lunch. Even though many of our students live at or below the poverty line, students and teachers at my school work hard to bridge the achievement gap. Students receive an education full of rigor and receive quality instruction from a vast array of trained professional educators. Our high school is committed to helping our students become successful global citizens in the 21st century.

My Project

Currently, we have two fields we could utilize for practice at our school for our soccer teams; however, we can only use one field because we only have one goal to use. Soccer provides another athletic outlet for our students to participate in extra-curricular activities. Being able to utilize an entire field would help separate our boys' and girls' teams to have a more effective soccer practice to work on game-like situations.

By getting these pop-up goals for our team, we will be able to work on shooting on the goal more because we will have four goals on which our athletes can take shots on.
