I first came across the Posca brand markers earlier this year, and let me tell you...they are some of the best ones around. My students love using the few that I already have on their sketchbook assignments and their own personal artwork during free time. Some have expressed to me the potential to use them for a future project. This gave me the idea to gather these materials to use for our Pop Art painting. Some of the ultra fine tips would be great for outlining, dotting, and mark making at the end of the project, and the stencils could create some really cool intricate background to their projects.
Working at a Title I school, most students cannot afford these expensive products themselves, and a majority of them have never even come across art materials before joining my class.
My goal for this project is to give them the opportunity to work with these materials on their Pop Art paintings by providing multiple sets of pens for whole class use. I would love to be able to provide this for them for their future projects and sketchbooks as well.
My students are a group of wonderful, kind, and super creative kids. Everyday they are pushing their creativity further in Art 1. They constantly are asking for other materials to explore with future projects. They deserve the best since they are the best. If you can help our classroom, it would be greatly appreciated!
