Pom Poms and Dance Uniforms for Middle School Dance Team!
My students need pom poms and dance uniforms. I am requesting two sets of poms: white/navy blue and metallic navy blue/metallic silver and dance uniforms with our school name on the front.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project will specifically benefit the after school dance team which I direct. Students need to audition to get into the team. Every year there are between 12-24 members. The group rehearses 2-3 times per week after school for 2-3 hours each time. The team performs at school events, parades, and around New York City.
My team loves learning a variety of dance styles, performing, and creating their own choreography.
They are members of a Title I middle school located in an urban and resource-poor neighborhood. 100% of the students in the school receive free lunch. The student population is 95% Hispanic, 3% African American, and 2% Arabic. Approximately 30% of the student body is made up of students with special needs and 50% of the students are English language learners. This team is the highlight of most students day where they feel free to express themselves. My students are eager to learn all they can about dance!
My Project
I am requesting two sets of pom poms for my school dance team: white/navy blue and metallic navy blue/metallic silver as well as dance uniforms with our school name on the front. Students will use these materials this upcoming school year and for years to come in performances, parades, and perhaps competitions in the future. I am also requesting clear bins to store the new items.
I have been letting my students play with my old dance team poms and now they want to do dances with poms in our school colors: they are obsessed!
The few poms that I have are mismatched. Nonetheless, students have been trying out all sorts of pom tricks and choreography. I am requesting matching poms in varying color combos so that my team can use and perform with a different color in each hand or use the same colors. I want to make sure I have enough poms for all of my students. These items will help my students' creativity, musicality, and precision reach new heights.
My students will also be THRILLED to have matching dance uniforms with our school name on the front. Having matching dance uniforms will make my students feel more like a team and will increase our school spirit. I want to help my dancers feel important.
