If there is one thing I can tell you about my class, is that they have lots of personality! Every day I walk into my class I am excited to see the 20 little faces eager to see me! We love to dance and sing together but, most importantly, we love to LEARN! I want to make learning fun and relevant to them at such a young age.
I want to allow my students to learn through hands on, genuine experiences.
I teach at a Title 1 school and my students don't always have all the tools and background experiences a lot of other students do to meet their potential. I love my students and I want to be able to give them as much experience that I can while I have them.
Stem Bins are used in classrooms across America. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. They are used for students to be able to create and build with a variety of materials. I will provide students with picture cards of real life structures that they can create with a variety of tools.
Students will be able to explore and engineer through play and collaboration with others.
Learners of all types will be able to work together and problem solve. Not only will this build spatial reasoning and encourage imagination, but it will allow students to practice problem solving with others.
Exploring with stem bins will also be able to be used as a motivational tool for students. Students will want to do better and be allowed to to use the stem bins. It will also help teach students how to use materials responsibly and to take care of them.
