Poetry to Peruse and Ponder

Help me give my students the poetry they love to consume and have been wanting to add to our library.

My Project

My students have been developing a deep love and appreciation of poetry. Sadly, it is the least represented genre in both our classroom library and our school media center. My students have asked me to work to build up our poetry section in our classroom library.

When students cry for poetry, how can anyone ignore them?

Poetry opens the mind for so much exploration and interpretation, which is why it is so ideal and appealing when it comes to middle school students. At this age, students are finding their own voices and beginning to sculpt themselves into who they wish to become. Having access to the poetry they desire will feed their growth and exploration.
