This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of students that have been personally impacted by the pandemic. Although extremely resilient they spent a lot of time in front of computer screens. As a result this students have spent a lot of time on computer screens. They have a hard time focusing and attention spans are shorter. My students love hands on activities especially painting and art.

My students are super passionate and creative and love a peaceful and calming work environment.

My Project

The items I am requesting for our classroom have been on our Wishlist for sometime. Students will be working on a poetry journal throughout our CKLA unit 3. This directly aligns with RL.4.5 RL.4.10. As a final project students will design and create a canvas with an original poem. Students will paint and illustrate their final project. At the end of the unit students will showcase their work. During the pandemic students had little to no opportunity to do hands on projects and I have discovered that they enjoy these projects the most; especially painting. I aim to provide a calm and relaxing learning environment that feels like home.
