This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I teach 1st grade in one of the top college prep charter school in California. We provide quality education for a neighborhood of children who would not normally receive it.
In my classroom I need a way to display words and skills we are practicing yet have limited wall space. A pocket chart stand and pocket chart will allow me to both post the words and skills to be practice and allow students to manipulate the words by coming up to the chart and touching and moving the words and cards.
Using this pocket chart and stand I will be able to display spelling words, vocabulary words, and high frequency words for reading instruction. Not only will this benefit reading instruction but provide a place for students to look up and see the words they are working with daily on display to practice.
You will make it possible for my students spend their days in a print rich environment.
