My students need 4 sets of pocket charts, and pocket chart activities for math and literacy.

My Students

Help us view, organize, and categorize important information with pocket charts and activity cards in a hands-on, interactive manner.

I am a first grade teacher with a wonderful class of diverse, inquisitive, and enthusiastic learners.

The students I teach are very excited about learning but many come from homes with few educational resources. My students, like many first graders, excel when they are given hands-on materials to work with. I work in a working class district that does not receive much federal, state, or local funding. Thus, we have very limited resources so I am forced to buy many of the materials for the classroom by myself.

My Project

I am requesting pocket charts and several pocket chart card sets. The Days in School Math Activity Center will enable my students to learn about place value and number sense in an interactive manner. First graders tend to have a difficult time internalizing and understanding the value of numbers. This center will help them overcome this difficulty. The blends and digraph sorting center as well as the vowel sound sort will help my students understand spelling patterns and further their understanding of letter-sound correspondence. Students will learn about blends, digraphs, short and long vowels in a hands-on fashion. The pointers will make learning fun as students will be actively engaged as they point to the charts and demonstrate their understanding.

Your help will ensure that my students will discover the mysteries of place value, blends, and vowels.

These materials will enable my students to become actively involved in their learning. These materials are also very durable so they will be used for many years to come.
