Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The first few weeks of school can be a big adjustment for kindergartners from learning new routines, working with peers and working with a teacher that they don't know yet. I am hoping to have some new classroom plushies that my students can have as a circle time or reading buddy.

Often students who live in a low income environment might come to school with various traumas so for students to have a friendly plushie to comfort them gives that student the ability to learn .

Students being able to have a plushie that they can teach and read to or be a snuggly friend when they are having big feelings. Part of the reason I also choose familiar characters such as Spider Man, Bluey, Sonic, and Pete The Cat that my students should recognize and will feel comforted holding a familiar face. Whom can provide comfort and someone that my students can also "teach" while learning in the classroom.
