We are a small middle school that is looking to broaden their horizons. We have a limited budget for the library and I'd like to give students more opportunities to read books we don't have.
The students are ready to jump into technology and access more books for reading.
There are many students who do not have tvs in their home and who also love to read and want more than we can offer them. Our students typically do not travel much outside of the area, so providing them with more resources about other lifestyles, environments, and cultures is huge for them.
My Project
These materials will help keep Kindle Fire tablets protected and charged so students will be able to check them out from the library. The charging station will be located in the library and all kindles will be plugged in when they are not checked out. Additionally, if a student would like to charge their Kindle during the day, they will be able to do that so they can read at home.
Protecting our resources will allow our students access to many more books and information sources than we currently have.
The Kindles will provide access to a shared digital collection providing students much more to read. It will also help students who currently have difficulty reading as they will be able to access books more suited to their ability level. It is going to be important to protect the Kindles from damage so more students can have access to them.
