Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items that I am requesting makes a difference in my newcomer/ newly arrived immigrants who doesn't have books/notebooks for writing their notes in all of there classes.

Academy for New Americans is a unique school that help newly arrived immigrants to acclimate to New York City schools and majority of our students live in temporary housings and lack school supplies that they need to get by in regular bases in which is why it is important to have supplies to provide for them during the academic year.

I wish to provide more for my kids but give them not only the class supplies but also providing a small library that I am co-jointly working with the ELA teacher will help students love reading in their native language. Most of our kids read below grade level not only in English but also in their native language. I would like to add on the support of our learners as much as they can when they are with us prior leaving to their zone/home school in the new academic year.
