My Students

My 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade scholars are very intelligent and bright students. The come from low income families and all students receive free and or reduced lunch. Many times students come to school without the necessary materials because some are not able to purchase them. JHHS is a Title I school and the school relies on funds and donations in order to meet the educational needs of all students.

They strive daily to do their absolute best and they always aim for academic success.

"What you put into it, is what you get out of it!" is what I tell them everyday. Every day is a work day at JHHS and our goal is academic excellence.

With distance learning becoming the new normal in education, my students as well as myself are in of technology to conduct remote learning from home as well as in school when it is safe to return to the classroom. The laptop will be a GREAT help in being able to continue learning whether at home or at school.

My Project

The document camera will be used to analyze documents, and political cartoons as they are aligned to the US History standards. This will help students to analyze documents in great deal as it relates the time period (era) being studied. The students will also be able to have a clear view of the document and its details. Using the document camera, students will be able to use the SCAM technique when it comes to analyzing political cartoons. The students will look for the S- symbols, C- captions, A- actions and M- students will interpret the message of the political cartoon.

The PPEs which are so extremely important during this time of COVID-19 is extremely necessary for continued cleaning and sanitizing the learning environment.

As the teacher, I will ensure that the classroom is cleaned and sanitized daily and especially in between the change of class. Students will have access to hand sanitizer and mask as needed

My students health and well-being are extremely important to me and it is my goal to provide every resource available to ensure their success.
