Help me give my students access to millions of phenomenal digital resources, created by teachers, to select and print based on specific classroom needs, as well as a lamination supplies to make the materials durable.
The 30 at-risk 4-year-old students in my two half-day classes are selected based on various background factors as well as a comprehensive language, motor and concept screening.
Children that show a potential delay in one or more area, in addition to other risk factors, including low income, are enrolled in 4K to give them the advantage of a year of school before the challenges of Kindergarten.
We set many specific goals based on the screening data collected prior to enrollment, but my biggest and most important goal of 4K is to plant the seed of lifelong learning in the hearts of my children.
My Project
Teachers Pay Teachers is an incredible resource! I spend quite a bit on items to keep my 4K children engaged with hands on, inviting activities to build their 4K skills. For example, using a printable turkey game, we practiced identifying shapes EVERY SINGLE day in November. The children did not let me skip even one day!
You would have thought we had a REAL turkey in the room that was going to start gobbling out from his hiding spot behind one of the shapes!
The children went wild for this shape game, and went from struggling with identifying shapes to begging for shape practice to build their shape knowledge.
Purchasing a variety of activities to use throughout different holidays and seasons will maintain excitement, as we drill basic 4K skills to mastery. The lamination materials will help make these items durable, so I can use them year after year. Thank you for considering making a donation to my project!
