My Students

The students in my class are hardworking, caring, and eager to learn. They come from many different backgrounds and types of families. The majority of my class has free or reduced lunch based on socioeconomic status. These students do not often get a lot of support at home. Therefore, they need a lot of extra support, attention, and love in the classroom.

It is amazing to see the students' excitement when they meet a goal or read a text they never thought they would be able to read.

They need intervention, excitement, and encouragement to be confident in themselves and grow as learners every day. I look forward to helping them grow during their 2nd grade year.

My students enjoy being active, engaged, and excited about learning. They love doing centers, experiments, and engaging projects! They need a lot of encouragement and motivation to help them be successful and continue to grow in their learning.

My Project

Could you imagine going to the store and all of the clothes are mixed together with no order? Or going to the grocery store and the food is placed randomly throughout the store? Think about when you go to the library and try to find books that interest you. Would you want to search through every shelf to find the kind of books you like when they are out of order? My students need order and organization for our classroom library so they will be able to find the types of books they would like to read.

With the purchase of durable book bins, my students would be able to easily find books that interest them, and help increase their love of reading.

In our classroom, we find reading as a fun and very important part of our day. My students have independent reading time every day to engage in reading books that they love. I would like to improve our classroom library with better organization to help them find the books that they like. Please help my classroom and my students, and help foster a love for reading in my students!
