My students need one Vernier Emissions Spectrometer to use during an amazing STEM-based spectroscopy lab.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Snodgrass's classroom raised $1,089

My Students
I am very fortunate to teach the students of this community. They are motivated, inquisitive, and really enjoy collaborating when given a project. Over the past year, parents have generously donated towards my vision of introducing STEM based chemistry and biology labs involving amazing technology that is used to gather data.
The students appreciate the opportunity to use the STEM lab equipment because it allows them to use technology while collaborating and using critical thinking to produce results which help prepare them for the future.
My Project
My students will be using emissions spectroscopy to analyze accurate wavelengths produced from eight different substances. Understanding that different elements and compounds emit specific wavelengths of light as their atoms jump from the ground state to the excited stated and then fall back down to the original ground state is an incredibly important concept in chemistry.
Allowing my students to use the requested Vernier emissions spectrometer will enable them to precisely determine the wavelengths produced from eight different pure substances that I present to them.
This incredible item is amazing because it finally completes a wonderful STEM experience that I have been anxiously building for the past year. I know that all of my students would be very grateful.
