My Project

I am a reading specialist who works with struggling readers in kindergarten to 5th grade. I am seeking Little Minds at Work Science of Reading Essentials Toolkit, and Lowercase Phonics Chips for engaging phonics manipulatives for primary students to help prevent reading failure as early as possible.

My mission is to ensure that no child leaves kindergarten or first grade thinking that they don’t have the ability to be a reader.

Preventing reading difficulties early is key through phonics instruction that is explicit and interactive. These phonics literacy materials will provide meaningful, engaging practice that strengthen skills and build confidence. Who doesn’t want to wave one of these “magic wands” over the word that they learned to spell? There is nothing more rewarding than watching a child’s face light up when they blend sounds together and realize, “I can read that!”
